Hungbeer 19-20/5/2006
The departure was at 12:30, but we were late as usually. This time was Peter fault. He had to work. They picked me up in Ljubljana, but they naturally got lost before. That´s the way it is when rural boys come to town. We took our friend Belt and Mikla´s friend Rok with us, since we had free sits in the van. So here we were back on the road, destination Hungary or better said Szombathely and Szentes. Road trip of about 700 km one way. This time Peter the beer manager had Belt and a true beer corner to help him out. A picture you have to see. The two full of beers and complaining all the time about girls. On the other hand Rok turned out to be a tranquil guy. We had few laughs when we saw his ID card. He is minor so we were responsible for his moral education. Ha, ha, ha! Talking seriously, he really didn´t experience much of the old Yugoslavia. The journey went smoothly with Samo driving and few pissing stops. Samo with his truck driver hat embodies a true driver spirit.
The first thing we saw coming to Szombathely was the club Vegallomas. The club was great and soon after Andras from the club arranged everything and served us dinner. So without worries we soon found ourselves out at the table football. Rok proved to be a pro in this game and he confirmed the saying once again: Still waters run deep.
We were all surprised when we found out the first band was already playing and that soon would be our turn. It was so early and our stomachs were still filled up. The place was still not full. All these resulted as a strange feeling on the stage but nevertheless we did our job for the people who came on our show. Beside Quest from Inside that played first, there were two more bands Embers and Dark Day Dungeon. The first two bands are from Hungary. We know Embers few years already, while the other band was the organizer of the concert in Szentes. We met Dark Day Dungeon from Switzerland at the bar before the show and we got on well with them immediately. We found out that we played with the singer years ago in Rome. He was then singing for Cataract. The next surprise was meeting some old friends, as Doshi, from years ago from our first show in Hungary. It is always difficult for me to talk with people I know for so many years and are great but at the same time I saw them just few times and years ago. The show ended early. We slept that night in a village in a beautiful Hungarian countryside house.
The next day we had a long way to Szentes. The stop to renew our supplies was a must. Dark Day Dungeon waited for us for a while, but we took our time and we all agreed they should go ahead. The trip to Szentes took us the whole afternoon and the luckiest ones took this opportunity to take a sleep. I don´t know how, but we got to Szentes before Dark Day Dungeon did. The place was a wild- west style bar with a garden and another bar outside where you could sit and relax. The weather was sunny this day and we could enjoy another delicious Hungarian dinner outside. Attila and Anna welcomed us well and they were even so kind to drive us to the exchange office. These people were really great. Meanwhile some of us went for a walk around the town. Szentes is a nice, typical panonian small town by the river.
The concert started at a normal hour. The first one were again Quest from Inside. They didn´t stay in Szombathely overnight. They came directly to Szentes after the show. After them was our turn. The show was great. We rocked hard and people felt that. Nothing feels better than people enjoying at your show and at your music. What a pity that Belt didn´t fulfilled his mission. He was supposed to shoot everything with the camera but he passed out right before our show. I guess the bottle of vodka was too much. Dark Day Dungeon were soon after as and they played hard as well. We met a lot of new people after the show, even an Ukrainian guy I forgot his name. It is nice to talk with people with so different lives and share your experience with them. They always give you a piece of them.
Dark Day Dungeon decided to leave after the show too, so we left almost together. I´m sure we will stay in touch. The drive home was long and took us around nine hours. It´s unbelievable but Mišo drove while I was talking about everything to keep him up. He never drives at night, because he always falls asleep. I drove second, which means I stayed up the whole night. As a result I overslept Sunday.
See you till the next adventure!

Diary-Flash trip to Innsbruck 17/3/2006
Diary-Flash trip to Innsbruck 17/3/2006
I woke up early that morning however I took my time doing nothing since I took my day off. All I´ve done in the morning was taking care of my peach trees. Yes, I confess a piece of my soul is a farmer. These are the moments that bring me memories about my childhood and my father. However, at one o´clock I made myself a quick snack and prepared my bag for Innsbruck in a hurry. It was late. Samo had to pick me up soon after he would finish to work. We had to be in Innsbruck at seven pm . That means 500 km in five hours. Samo was supposed to call me but there was no call. Plus he was unavailable on his mobile. Mišo called nervous as always asking where we were. They were waiting us at our meeting point 20 km from my home. After an hour of waiting all became clear. Mikla called me. Samo appeared without me. He forgot to pick me up. Our trip began great as usual. Samo had to come back to Kanal to pick me up. Being in the car with Samo going 160 km per hour and his nervous shouting at everyone and everything in our way was one of the funniest moments of our trip. An experience you have to try. We met at Peters place. We were already one hour late. Typically! Like always. Now we had four hours for 500 km. Mission impossible.
The road took us through Italy. It´s hard to imagine that is the same country all the way to Sicily. It gives you the feeling nothing can stop you. However the Poo lowland viewed from the motorway is very boring. Industrialization has marked these places forever. Samo is the only one who always finds something to be amazed of. Peter was the beer manager like always taking care of our supplies. There is always the technical problem of drinking beer and not having time to stop. Our only stop was extended surprisingly by Mikla the only one not drinking. It´s a pleasure driving through new places watching the sun goes down and singing: GO WEST! The spring is here or almost here. It´s like you are reborn or you wake up from a winter sleep. This circulation of seasons is really something special. I can´t imagine the world and myself without it. I couldn´t live in the tropics. However if someone has an offer or invitation I could change my mind. Back to the story. With my luck I had to drive the worst part of the trip with the motorway under construction, full of trucks and traffic jams. When we finally got to Austria the night has already fall. It wouldn´t be Austria if they wouldn´t charge us as soon as we entered. This time for the mountain pass.
We came to Innsbruck at 9 pm- two hours late. We first missed but then soon found the place. It was the same street we played the last time we were here. Just few meters ahead and five years ago. Nobody went to check it out. The time gap was too big. The PMK club was great with a luxury backstage. Christian welcomed us. The people were great, specially the girls from the bar ( because of the free beer). Innsbruck is still the best city in Austria! We played with an Italian band called When the seasons change- yeah, just the right time to have their tour. We met in the backstage and we chat a little bit. Very nice guys. We ate a great I don´t know what, but was good. The others left me with the merchandise and I soon fell asleep. The first were When the seasons change. They did their job. Then was our turn. Our show was great with an enthusiastic audience. We missed only the “Modern talking” man- an forty years old man who really enjoyed our show the last time we were here. (He looks like one of Modern talking.) After the show we soon left, because some of us had work to do the next morning. Sleeping in the Madness van is impossible but how can we complain? Madness has always rented us the van for free so may the force be with you Madness. It was already morning and I had to drive again. Damn Samo and Mišo. Bastards. They left their driving license at home so they wouldn´t have to drive. The motorway was empty and everybody was sleeping. It was the time to think, to review the concert and make plans for tomorrow. When we came closed to Slovenia an old Slovenian hit on the radio (Rudeči cvet or Cadore) welcomed us back home. We were all tired and pissed off and the last thing we were willing to do was to get our instruments from the van. No volunteer ever. That was another short adventure to keep us alive. All you need is faith in yourself!
